Levels in Level Up XP
Levels in XP are milestones that learners reach as they accumulate points. Each level represents a stage in their journey through your course or training, providing a clear sense of progress and achievement.
Levels are:
- Based on points: A learner's total points determine their current level.
- Defined by thresholds: Each level has a starting number of points, and a length (how many more points are needed to reach the next level).
- Visible to learners: Learners can see their current level and what they need to do to reach the next one.
Levels help you:
- Make progress visible: Learners can see how far they have come and how far they have to go.
- Motivate ongoing engagement: Reaching a new level feels like an achievement and encourages learners to keep participating.
- Structure your gamification: You can align levels with key milestones in your course, such as completing modules or mastering skills.
How to set up levels
- Points progression: Define the number of levels and their point thresholds.
- Appearance: Customise the appearance of the levels.
- Award badges: Optionally, connect levels with Moodle badges.
- Points system: Define the way points are awarded to learners.
